Cast Votes for Cory Atkins

I am writing to express my strong support for Cory Atkins’ re-election as state representative for the 14 Middlesex District. I have worked closely with Cory Atkins on a wide variety of issues important to the people of Acton, Carlisle, Chelmsford and Concord. In 2010, after the Supreme Court’s disastrous Citizens United decision allowing corporations to spend unlimited money to influence elections, Cory and I teamed up to file a resolution asking our congressional delegation to support a constitutional amendment overturning Citizens United. After the resolution passed, we filed and successfully passed the Massachusetts Disclose Act, requiring Super PACs to disclose their top donors to the public. There is no stronger voice in the House of Representatives than Cory Atkins in taking on the influence of corporate money in politics.

This session, Rep. Atkins played a key role in fighting for a forward-thinking solar policy for Massachusetts. Showing her independence, Cory wrote a sign-on letter, urging the House leadership to adopt solar net metering legislation that would encourage more homeowners to put solar on their roofs, helping combat climate change.

I urge voters to cast their vote for Cory Atkins for state representative on Nov. 8.
